Elvis & Shebani

On the night of March 28th, 2010. We provided sound and lighting for a Jewish & Indian wedding reception for Elvis & Shebani. The reception was held at the Pointe Hilton on Tapatio cliffs. About 250-300 guests of which 95% were married couples. The event started off with a grand entrance which led into Jewish dances and of course Jewish chair dancing. This was also my first Jewish event so experiencing the Chair Dances were very interesting and fun to watch. 95% of the music at the event consisted of Oldies Jazz, RnB, Blues... The groom had quite the selection and most of the songs were specific requests. A very pleasant evening, great crowd, very amusing speeches, great food, drinks and a very fun event.

Chris & Erin

On the evening of March 20th, 2010 I was honored to be a part of Chris & Erin's wedding reception at the Ponite Hilton. The reception was greatly put together, great location, weather, food and drinks. The toasts by the best man, maid of honor and the bride's father were all sweet and funny. The first dance featured something I had never experienced before, FIREWORKS. Both the bride and groom seemed to have enjoyed the wedding and their guests as well. I was able to put together very raw footage of the event with the help of my friend Rijad. I hope you all enjoy the video and pictures by Melissa Dunstan.

R.I.P. DJ AM

Adam 'DJ AM' Goldstein, was a famous celebrity DJ, a great inspiration, and one of the greatest Disc Jockeys in the history of mankind. Having cheated death once....Adam was not quite lucky second time around. Drug overdose is believed to be the reason of his death, but regardless the cause of death, 36 is too young to die. I became familar with DJ AM not too long ago, when I heard his work with Blink 182 drumer Travis Barker. Since then i have listened to their tracks such as Fix Your Face, which also happens to be a track i have memorized from listening while at the gym, Fix Your Face 2, and have also watched thousands of other videos. DJ AM was an inspiration for me to try to become a turntablist. His work inspired me to purchase turntables and strive to someday scratch half as good as him. I was looking very forward to watching him perform with Travis Barker. I was actually watching his videos with a buddy of mine at home...when a few minutes later i read a feed from a fellow DJ about this misfortune. Adam will be greatly missed...still shocked, hoping that his soul rests in peace, and that he is in a better place.

Top 10 Things You Should Never To Say To A DJ

For any reader that may be offended....I am sorry, but this is the bitter truth, for all the DJs reading, ENJOY!!!!

1. PLAY SOMETHING GOOD...SOMETHING WE CAN DANCE TO !
The DJ has to play for more than one person...so what you hate may be another's favorite song and EVERYTHING played here can be danced to one way or another.

2. WOULD YOU PLAY SOMETHING WITH A "BEAT" !
BE SERIOUS! We know of NO songs played in a club that don't have some sort of BEAT!

3. I DON'T KNOW WHO SINGS IT AND I DON'T KNOW THE NAME OF THE SONG, BUT IT GOES LIKE THIS....
PLEASE don't sing for the DJ. They have to put up with smoke filled rooms and dangerous decibel levels all night long...Do them a favor and DON'T give them a rendition of your favorite song.

4. EVERYBODY WANTS TO HEAR IT !
Oh, sure... you polled everyone in the club and, as their spokesperson, you're requesting the song.

5. EVERYBODY WILL DANCE IF YOU PLAY IT !
The DJ won't. I guess that blows a hole in that theory!

6. I CAN GET LAID IF YOU PLAY IT !
Why settle for one night? Buy the album and get laid for a whole month!

7. I WANT TO HEAR IT NEXT !
The ONLY people who can get away with that statement write the DJ's paycheck!

8. WHAT DO YOU HAVE ?
It's a lot easier for you to go have another beer and figure out what you want to hear than it is for the DJ to recite the name of every record in the booth!

9. HEY, MAN, NOBODY CAN DANCE TO THIS !
It's NOT advisable to say this when the dance floor is packed (but some people do anyway) ! HOWEVER, even if there is only ONE person on the floor, it STILL contradicts the statement!

10. PLAY IT SOON, BECAUSE WE'RE LEAVING !
If your gonna leave after he plays it, why shouldn't he wait till the very last song so you stay all night!
